ISO 22000: 2018 is an international standard that sets out the requirements for a food safety management system. Companies that are involved in the supply chain must be able to demonstrate that they control safety hazards so that the food they deliver is safe to be consumed. Therefore, according to the standard, the respective company designs, operates, implements, and then updates a system that aims to provide products safe for the consumers in all its productions phases: production, processing, standardization, storage, and distribution. For these reasons, the standard incorporates all the requirements of the current Legislation, the requirements of the HACCP plan but also the principles of the management systems.
