Multifunctional farms

An agricultural holding is considered as multifunctional, when in addition to its traditional role (primary production), is active in the other two productive sectors: in the secondary and tertiary sector. It produces local products, which it can trade, as well as other non-marketable goods such as agricultural landscapes. In this way, each such farm focuses on multiple functions and new innovative business practices with multiple benefits for the owners by increasing tourism and promoting their products. To register a farm as multifunctional, it is necessary to draw up a three-year economic viability business plan. At QAS we undertake the application, the supervision but also the composition of the necessary plan for the producers as well as the provision of advice and know-how.

Measure 10: Denitrification – Reduction of water pollution from agricultural activity

Nitrogen pollution is the indirect or direct discharge of nitrogenous compounds into the aquatic environment with significant effects not only on human health but also to the degradation of human ecosystems. Action 10.01.04 has as its main objective the reduction of water pollution from both nitrate and phosphate ions or plant protection products, which are in the aquatic ecosystems due to the extensive agriculture.

At QAS we undertake the application, the supervision but also the establishment of the necessary file for the producers as well as the provision of advice and know-how throughout the cultivation period.

Measure 11: Organic Agriculture

Measure 11 consists of two Actions: The Action 11.1.1: the conversion from conventional crops to organic crops but also the Action 11.2.1: the preservation of organic crops. Measure 11 is part of the Rural Development Program 2014-2020 and according to it, aid is given to the producers who want to convert or maintain the currently eligible cultivations as organic crops.

At QAS we undertake the application, the supervision but also the establishment of the necessary file for the organic farmers as well as the provision of advice and know-how throughout the cultivation period.

Meeting special customer requirements

Many companies involved in the agri-food chain, respecting the need of the consumers for safe, quality products, have established special rules, which in most cases are more demanding than those of the existing Legislation. Their purpose is to supply the best possible quality of products.

At Quality Agro Solution, our executives, who have the ability to provide solutions to even the most strict and complicated requirements, undertake to monitor and organize the production of goods, according to the criteria established by each customer.

Specialized Plant Protection Programs

The need to produce safe quality food has led to increased controls and the adoption of strict Legislation, both National and Community, regarding the permitted limits of pesticides (MRL) on agricultural products. At the same time, many food distribution companies, or Super Market chains, have established their own standards and controls on products supplied by producers. Quality Agro Solution, with its vast experience in the proper use of pesticides and thorough knowledge of both National and Community Legislation in relation to plant protection and pesticide residues, is able to organize and monitor individualized pesticide programs for each crop, aiming at the increased crop yields with the least possible use of pesticides.

Environmental impact studies

Every human activity affects the environment to a greater or lesser degree. Ultimately, due to the rapid climate change, the trend towards the production of environmentally safe and climate neutral products has increased while it is imperative to reduce the environmental impact of the human activity. For these reasons, more and more companies are resorting to studies of the environmental impact of their activity, with multiple benefits for both the environment and the company itself.

Registration of PDO-PGI products

As PDO, is characterized a product that owes its unique characteristics to the specificity of the region that is produced, while as PGI, is characterized a product that originates from a specific region, which is used in its characterization, and is produced within its limits.

The registration of Greek products as PDO (Product of Designation of Origin) or PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) is a process with multiple benefits for both the producers and the product, as it is promoted domestically and internationally. Quality Agro Solution, with responsibility, undertakes with absolute success the preparation and submission of files for the registration of a product as PDO or PGI as well as the support of the file throughout the period until its registration in the EU Community Register.

Measure 9: Business plans of producers’ groups or producers’ organizations

Business plans are submitted annually by the producers’ group or producers’ organization and aim the following:

  • Planning of the production
  • Improvement of the quality of the final products
  • Enhancement of the commercial value of the final product
  • Promotion of the final products
  • Environmental measures
  • Crisis prevention and management

Quality Agro Solution undertakes the drafting, submission, and monitoring of these programs, with consistency, knowledge, and experience, while providing alternative solutions to any challenge that the team is called to face.

Establishment of Producers Groups

A producers’ group is an independent legal entity, which is set up by producers (farmers or stockbreeders). This collectivity co-decides and follows joint action to achieve its goals and interests. Through the cooperation and efforts of its members, their earnings and interests are usually more significant than those of their individual efforts. Moreover, this format is eligible for aid and funding.

The recognition as a Producer Group can be done with a smaller number of producers while the recognition as a Producer Organization requires more producers and an increased business capacity which is expressed by the value of the production.

The benefits enjoyed by its members are many and can be summarized as follows:

  • Better organization of production and marketing
  • Improvement of product quality and competitiveness
  • Ensuring better prices
