EMAS is an environmental management and control system defined by an EU regulation to control, document and mitigate environmental impacts. The participation of the companies is not compulsory by law, it is valid worldwide and covers all sectors of the economy and services. It is addressed to all companies and organizations regardless of their type, size, product, or service provided that have an impact on the environment.
ISO 14001: 2015
ISO 14001 is an international standard that sets out the general requirements for what a business should do to manage the impact of its activities on the environment. The aim is to identify and control its environmental issues related to the operation of the company. It is addressed to all businesses or organizations that aim to establish, implement, and improve an environmental management system.
ISO 14064 Greenhouse gas emissions
ISO 14064 is an environmental standard that aims to tackle climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. It provides the framework for calculating and verifying greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in companies that are interested in quantifying and reducing them. It is addressed to companies that set as their primary goal, the reduction of their carbon footprint but also the more rational management of greenhouse gas emissions regardless of their type, product, or service.
FSC Chain of Custody Standard – Sustainable Forest Management
It is a standard that guarantees sustainable forest management. It defines the requirements that must be met by companies who want to show respect to the environment and commit to their participation in responsible forest management. It is addressed to all companies that are related to wood and its products.
ISO 45001: 2018 Hygiene and safety at work
It is a new international standard and the evolution of OSHAS 18001: 2017 which defines the requirements for an effective occupational health and safety management system. Its purpose is to reduce and / or eliminate occupational hazards in the work environment. It is addressed to companies whose activities pose direct or indirect risks to their employees and want to show interest in their safety as well as all those involved in their operation (management, customers, visitors).
USDA ORGANIC
The USDA Organic standard is a specialized standard for exporting organic products to the United States. Its scope of certification covers products of plant and animal origin and their processed derivatives.
JAS ORGANIC
The JAS standard is a specialized Japanese standard for companies that produce organic products and export them to Japan. The scope of certification of the standard includes food, feed, livestock products except for the alcoholic beverages, and determine their quality and production standards.
AB Agricultural Insurance
It is a system of selection and control of the appropriate suppliers of fresh fruits and vegetables developed by the company AB Vassilopoulos, in order to produce quality and safe food.
Tesco Nature’s Choice (TNC)
The Tesco Nature’s Choice standard was created and developed by the British Super Market chain Tesco, in order to ensure that the food it receives was produced in accordance with the principles of good agricultural practice for the production of safe products, environmental protection and the health of the employees.
QUALITY SCHEME FOR FOOD
The QS (Quality Scheme of Food – Wholesalers) standard is a quality assurance system that connects all production stages to a dynamic system from primary food production, to processing and standardization. It is addressed to companies with export activity mostly in Germany.
